VAT services

Porus undertakes projects that provide any, or all, of the following VAT services on as-needed basis:
1. Getting you ready for FTA inspections - through VAT-focused Detailed (transaction-by-transaction) Audits OR high-level Health Checks
Note: FTA Audits have already commenced in 2019!
2. Returns Preparation - based on detailed checking of your accounting records, invoices, credit notes, supplier invoices, etc.
3. Registration / Deregistration with FTA
4. Business/industry specific, customised VAT training
5. Systems Implementation - including advice on accounting complexities arising from VAT such as Advance VAT, foreign currency transactions, etc; review of contracts and invoices (both customers and suppliers); review of existing systems, advice on process and system changes, whether a new system is required, implementing the new system, etc.
6. Authorised Tax Agents - to deal with those thorny / frustrating issues requiring liaison with FTA

Porus actively looks for out-of-the-box, high-degree-of-difficulty assignments in the above areas, which clients are not able to do in-house, either due to skill limitations or time constraints!

Since the introduction of VAT, Porus has been executing VAT projects at clients of various sizes and complexity, engaged in diverse industries - media & advertising, property development and rental, construction contracting, wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers and hospitality.

Do not underestimate the complexity of VAT :
I) too many rules to read through - you cannot figure out which ones are relevant to your industry and enterprise, and
II) too many confusing connections between various sections of the law, and between the law and the implementing rules - you never know if you have interpreted the law fully in so far as it applies to your industry and transaction types

Having navigated the entire VAT law and implementation rules in minute detail, and having studied the implications for different types of businesses and industry sectors, Porus will guide you through the complexity of the VAT legislation and simplify it for you.
Porus will analyse your particular business operations in the context of the law, and give you well-considered, rather than impromptu or knee-jerk, advice on what should be done and should not be done.
This will help you (I) steer clear of the severe penalties that are likely to hit your business otherwise, and (II) maximize your Input VAT recovery and minimize your Output VAT payment.
